I chose 9 because I genuinely enjoy this class and am fully committed to this project. I appreciate that we had to set personal goals, as goal-setting is something I encourage my students to do both individually and as a class. I need to lead by example. I also love how we’re engaging in different platforms—it’s inspiring and gives me fresh ideas to incorporate into my teaching.

The support and resources I need for the remaining weeks in class are family, friends, patience, guidance, and encouragement. I chose family and friends because of their constant support that has helped me get to where I am today. My husband has been a rock picking up the household chores so that I can focus on my classes, teaching, grading, lesson planning, and concessions. Concessions will end for this season this weekend, but in April, I will have a middle school track meet to cover. I don't know the date yet as that schedule has not been released.

I refer to this quote often in my classroom, I want students to understand that when they are challenged is when I am making the little neuron connectors in their brain fire, and that is growth. So, if a project doesn’t challenge them, they don’t grow or learn. The same goes for me. When we had to do our first AI assignment, I was very skeptical, I didn't understand AI, and I didn’t want misinformation being presented. However, after a few assignments, visiting with a colleague about AI, and learning how AI can benefit me in the classroom, I am starting to develop an appreciation for it. I still have a lot to learn.

School was not easy for me growing up. I knew how to do the daily work and did a good job on it, but tests and college didn’t get along. We still don’t. college, we had a questions, and I knew there was a time limit all my brain would say was “time, time, time” and when I read the college, I couldn’t comprehend what they where asking, the words or numbers made no sense to me, so most of the time I would receive a “D”. I was made fun of laughed at and humiliated by people who I thought cared. This soon caused me to develop the mindset that I was stupid. The only reason I went off to college right after high school was to prove to my classmates that I wasn't stupid. I graduated with 2 associate's degrees in Business Administration and Agriculture Technology. Now, here I am 30 years later, back in college working on obtaining a Bachelors in Business Computers Education. Back 30 years ago, I would never have believed I was capable of getting this degree. Since starting college a second time, I have discovered that growing up, I dealt with testing anxiety, some ADD, and dyslexia. I still have these challenges, but just knowing this has made me feel better about what I experienced as a child and that there was something wrong even when the teachers and my mom didn’t think there was. I was not this little girl who could not sit still or focus or my main problem be quiet. I liked to talk, but even as I got older and told myself to not talk, to pay attention I would struggle to focus on taking notes, or even to listen, I always needed to be drawing. My pictures were of nothing but lines meeting. My next challenge will be passing the Praxis.

Gratitude Snapshot. I am thankful for better sleep that improves my focus, energy, and patience, benefiting both me and my students by allowing me to be more present and engaged in the classroom. This will influence future practices by prioritizing rest, ensuring I bring my best self to teaching, and create a more positive learning environment.
