         <title>Computers/Electronic Texts</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>These are the computers/electronic texts that students use in the classroom. Each student is given a Chromebook (by the school), where they have access to things such as Google Classroom, I-ready (for reading and math), and more. Having students use these online resources is important because they have the students complete content that will meet their needs and will not be too difficult. Some students in this class will also use their Chromebook to type their morning journal reflections. However, in the back of the classroom, there is a single computer and keyboard. This computer is here so if a student forgets their Chromebook at home, their Chromebook is broken, and any other circumstance like this.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Extended Text Process Charts</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>These are the extended text process charts that are within this classroom. The Writing Process chart is located in the very back of the classroom where it shows the four main parts of this process and where each student is within these four parts. However, in the front of the classroom there is the RACE strategy process chart that shows the process students need to use when answering questions in their writing. This chart is clipped onto the front of a decently sized white board since my SBTE and students frequently reference this chart.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>These Games/Puzzles/Manipulatives are located on the right side of the classroom on the wall in these little cubbies. Some of these games are more to do to with words and or the spelling of those words. These games include but are not limited to Apples to Apples, Scrabble, Guesstures, and more. However, there are also manipulatives located within this plastic bin (in the picture above). These manipulatives allow children to play while using math, science, and ELA. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Towards the front right of the classroom, this instructional aid is displayed on the window. This specific instructional aid shows students the things that they can do to annotate when they read. Having these "Coding the text" symbols and their meanings displayed here is extremely important because students can refer to this whenever they need to when reading. This way students can annotate their reading and know why right when they see the symbol in comparison to just highlighting everything.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Within my SBTE's classroom on the right wall in a cubby and on the top section, there are leveled books called "Leveled Readers". Since there are many different students in this classroom with different experiences, they have Leveled Readers for grades 3,4, and 5. This photo shows that these books in the classroom are mainly organized into their particular grade level, so that they are easy to find. Within this section, there are also books that correlate with the specific time of year!</div>]]></description>

         <title>Limited Text Process Charts</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On the left wall towards the ceiling of the classroom, there is a vocabulary section called "Lifetime Words" as well as the alphabet in cursive. These Lifetime Words are specific words that the students will commonly use and definitely need to know how to spell. I thought that these words were a great reminder to have on the wall for students since they have seen a few of these words within their recent spelling test.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this classroom, each student has a green journal that they frequently write in. This is a student's journal&nbsp;from a morning discussion question from a few days before I went into this classroom for the first time. These journals are where the students write their morning journal entry (based on a question) as well as a little bit of ELA work or notes.&nbsp;Within this particular journal entry, the students were asked to write a few sentences about some things that entertain them.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In between the windows on the right wall, there is a chart that shows the I-Care Rules. These I-Care ways and mentality is used school-wide by RCSD school number 15.<br>During the school's twice a week live streamed morning events, the choir sings a song about the I-Care way, while the rest of the school watches. Having these I-Care Rules in the classroom is a great way to make sure students are aware of them, and that they can refer to these when they need.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is an assessment the students in my field placement were given during their math class. Within class on this day, the teacher did quite a few adding fractions questions with the class after introducing this two days prior. After the teacher did example problems with the class and gave them a few to work on, she assigned these four questions for homework. During class the next day, students switched papers with a classmate and correct each others work in red colored pencil.</div>]]></description>

Within this text display, it shows students some positive affirmations as well as things that they can do to help them with their work. Having this inspirational text display in the classroom is important because students can use these sayings to motivate them throughout the school year. These are also important to have in the classroom because students can refer to these when they are struggling and frustrated with the many things going on in their lives.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Just outside of this fifth-grade classroom is some student work displayed on the wall. Within this work on the wall, each student wrote two or more things that they wanted to improve upon this year whether it was in or out of school. I was told that this would have gone in the classroom but most of the right wall has windows and the left has the students' cubbies. It is important that the teachers display these goals from the students because it can remind them to do the best they can. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Within the right side of the classroom under the windows, the students' textbooks can be found within this cubby. The only major textbook that the students have this year is a science textbook. This book is not used every science lesson but is brought out at least once every few weeks. Having the textbooks in this area is important because the students have easy access to them and they can also leave them at school so they do not have to carry the textbooks home.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On the right side of the classroom in the cubbies are a selection of tradebooks (Touchstone Texts). These books range from biographies, fiction, nonfiction, and more. Having these different and diverse texts in the classroom is extremely important because students can find a text that they can make connections to. Within my first few visits to my field placement, I have not seen any students pick a book from this area. Hopefully I can encourage a student to pick up one of these interesting books! </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On the front wall of the classroom are these Powers of 10 homemade posters that my SBTE made during a math lesson with students. Due to the layout of the classroom, there is not much room to display student work, so the students' work is displayed outside of the classroom (Shown in student published work). Having these Powers of 10 posters displayed in the classroom is important because students can refer back to this while working on their assignments and assigned work in class.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Within the above photograph shows a students completed and graded math homework. Since the students' are learning about fractions and the many different types of them, this homework assignment made sure to test the students knowledge on that and LCM (Least Common Multiple). Having the students do their homework and having the teacher look over it is really important because students are showing that they know the material and that they are understanding what they do right/wrong.</div>]]></description>
