Edmund Halley was an English scientist, he made significant discoveries in geophysics, mathematics, meteorology and physics. He is best known for predicting the orbit of the comet that was later named by his name. He was born in November 8, 1656, in London, England. He was taught privately at his house then he entered St. Paul's School. Edmund Halley was usually exceeding in mathematics and astronomy. After he finished school he entered Queens College, Oxford in 1673 at that time he was 17 years old. He became a protege of John Flamsteed.

He learned arithmetic, Latin, and the ground rules of the catholic religion. He went to the Louvian University when he was 15 years old, he was accepted to the University of Paris (a medical school). He was taught mostly on the work of Galen of Pergamon, (an Ancient Greek physician). Guinter von Andernach taught Vesalius anatomy, he allowed his students to make their own dissections.

His mum toke him away from school and wanted him to work as a farmer, but it didn't work. Newton entered the University of Cambridge's Trinity, by the persuasion from his uncle to his mum. Newton liked advanced science more than the standard curriculum he toke. In his spare time he would read books about modern philosophy, from these books he discovered the new concept of nature, that was the framework of the SR.

Newton found out about the law of gravity from an apple that fell on him while he was sitting under a tree. He kept asking questions like why didn't the apple fly? Why didn't the apple go to the right or left? exc. From all these observations he found out the law of gravity.
