I'm sure this has been discussed, but was wondering who'd be in charge of running the library curriculum... language teachers? Library officers?

(not-so-serious aside - would it be a nice post-retirement job for language teachers? 😂)

Possibly we could have an LO that pertains to students learning to discern their own reading interests and comfort levels when they read books. e.g. they can pick up a book and know what to do if they are uncomfortable with the content and ideas in there. E.g. stop reading and pick up a different book/ speak to someone about what made you uncomfortable etc. This is a life skill.

Really heartened to see how far PW has come since i taught PW back in 2003! Now better appreciate why the repositoning of PW as a pass/fail subject frees our students to explore real world problems and collaborate meaningfully. It is a win win when engaging partner agencies as they also benefit from talking to the young leaders of singapore's future.

One LO I would hope for is for each learner to be able to discover the joy of reading by finding "treasures" - books they enjoy reading as an individual... and as a social activity book promotion etc. Glad to see the curriculum coming together.

It was mentioned that students are able to log in using MIMS to get to the public library. Is it possible for students to use MIMS to link to the public library to borrow and read e-books?

Just a thought: Can we encourage primary schools to consider locating their school libraries on the ground floor where it is more accessible for the lower primary students? Primary school students tend to visit the library during recess and if it’s more visible and accessible, hopefully more students would visit the library. #catchthemyoung
