Although many young people care for gender equality and want to stop gender inequality, some of them don't identify with the term 'feminist' because according to Dr. Christina Scharff they feel as if it doesn't apply to them or it is too strong of a term. But then again, some people strongly identify with the term feminist because they feel as if it applies to their beliefs.

When people promote gender-based stereotypes, everyone is affected negatively. These traits associated with specific genders start from a very young age and follow people throughout their lives, and can affect people in different settings. For example, lots of traditional ideas that exist even now, such as the women can't be strong or men can't be vulnerable, affect everyone negatively. To achieve gender justice, we need to eliminate assumptions attached to genders and stop perpetuating gender stereotypes.

When people misunderstand issues such as gender justice, it becomes difficult to take action, as well as can lead to more stereotypes and can affect everybody negatively. One of the main misunderstandings of gender justice is that all genders will be totally equal. Genders such as males and females are biologically different, meaning it is not possible to attain gender equality as each gender has different needs that need to be fulfilled. Another misunderstanding is that gender equality is only for women, as they don't have the same opportunities as men. However, there are many more genders than male and female. Some genders need justice more than others, but that doesn't mean that it should only be for them. Gender justice is fighting for all genders to be treated in the right way.

In human societies, there is a need to be connected and empathize with animals to create change.
In the article by the Times of India, we see that foods, like the iconic "Vada Pav", are now fully-vegan, demonstrating that humans want to help save animals. With this, came lots of support from doctors, nutritionists, activists, organizations, eg. PETA. This shows that once people create emotional connections with animals and environment, they take action!
An article from the Guardian explains how fishing companies such as "Nueva Pescanova" (mentioned in the article) are trying to use new unethical plans for octopus farming only for profit. However, news agencies, scientists, activists, etc have completely different perspectives and are raising awareness about animal welfare and championing a shift in mindset rather than economic opportunities. These perspectives have strong personal connections intended to take action to save and empathize with octopuses and prevent any unethical plans to them.

Social media gives people a place to come together and voice their opinions, for better or for worse, especially shown in a 2011 Ted Talk by Wael Ghonim who is an Egyptian revolutionary who lead to the demise of the previous autocratic regime there says that the Egyptian people came together on Facebook to voice their frustrations at the developments in the rising tensions in the region, and the citizens united from there to come together and bring forth a democratic regime. There are also other examples of this claim being proven: A recent article by the New York Times suggests that those angered by the recent invasion of The Ukrainian People's Republic by the Russian Federation have gathered on the Chinese social media platform TikTok to create videos outlining and condemning the invasion has led to an almost discriminatory environment towards Russian civilians who have not contributed to this devastating war.

Social media does not have to be dangerous if we know how to use it correctly

A recent article by the cyber security of BBC who's job is to mainly hold companies accountable for cyber problems shared that social media makes it easier for people to communicate and help out others as it is a really diverse and widely use tool, so people could easily help and share their experiences with others. Social media if used in the correct way could potentially make some very big changes, for example, the climate change movements would have never took such a big knockout if the work wasn't spread out on social media for everyone to see. Big companies also made tools to helping to make the world become a better place. A great example is donating blood, people became lifesavers with one click and this would've never happened without social media.
Although these great changes in such little years, social media is still relatively new to us, so we need to be more careful as it could still be very risky and we don't exactly know all of the knock on effect it could cause. We just have to hope that the next generation could bring up their game and continue to learn and research about social media and maybe we would be able to see more positive outlooks.

Social media results in a source for specifically filtered entertainment from specific perspectives. According to the Washington Post, Russia's war against Ukraine has been termed the "TikTok War" by commentators. Social media platforms' algorithms are geared toward boosting emotional reactions and personalizing our feeds. What you see on the internet may not be the same as what others view. The fact that Syrians or Ethiopians have smartphones and have been shooting and posting films of their battles has not ensured overwhelming international sympathy. Additionally, The TikTok conflict is inherently devoid of context. During emergencies, people flock to social media sites in real-time to assess the situation. However, decontextualized and controversial posts are more likely to become viral than articles that have been well studied and validated. Ultimately, Disinformation is still a huge issue, and millions of TikTok videos with false information about the conflict have already been shared. This isn't specific to TikTok or even social media, though. Propaganda has always been an important tool of war, but now it's big Internet platform companies, not just politicians or war profiteers, who benefit.

Climate change is a global but exaggerated

issue which affects many, but still firms and governments aren't taking action on. According to forbes, because scientists often exaggerate the effects of climate the youth are panicking and this is causing over 90% more anxiety among the younger ages. Instead of spreading panic among citizens, if goverments and firms started taking action this would lead to a greater impact and reduce civilian worry. The effects of climate change affect many and that population will rise. With water droughts, and harsh conditions, the lives of humans and animals are being put in danger. But news agencies and goverments are chosing to focus on politics when goverments should be working together to stop this global issue. For example, even after the Greta Thunberg protest in sweden, there is little done by firms and goverments in order to reach their 2045 zero emissions pledge.

Climate change is a heavily debated and media-driven issue, so much so that the idea itself can cause harm. Though many people are taking action, it is still an issue that isn’t quite cared about enough by most. According to Forbes, the current state of climate change is heavily affecting many youths in a negative way; The article stated that there is an alarming increase in anxiety among young ages, and says that it is caused by the immense panic over climate change. The current effects of ongoing climate disasters are continuously affecting the entire globe; With current catastrophic weather-related events like droughts, torrential rain, etc, it is clear that the measures to reverse this are not being taken seriously enough.

Poor countries and communities are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. An example of this would be according to undp.org least developed countries (LDC's) are the most vulnerable to climate change. They are also the least able to recover from climate stresses and their economic growth is highly dependent on the climate. According to oecd.org about 96% of natural disaster-related deaths in recent years have taken place in LEDC's. Climate change has a high chance of increasing the frequency and magnitude of extreme weather events such as droughts, floods, and storms and poor countries are least prepared to mitigate impacts of natural disasters.
