I remember how Angela’s poem spoke about POC. It was a heartwarming poem, but it was also quite devastating. It spoke a lot on the troubles and discrimination POCs experience daily and in history. This helped me understand latino culture, despite it not exactly being latino culture, because it was just so similar to what latinos went through as well. We were able to relate their struggles.

I remember watching Childish Gambino’s music video. It spoke about black people struggles in such a music entertaining way, though it was still a bit scary. I also remember watching a few documentaries. This is important because, just like the inauguration of Joe Biden, This helped us relate to latino struggles.

This book was rather depressing. It had good story telling, and you could practically feel the pain those people felt while reading the book. It also taught us a lot about the struggles latinos go through for a better life. This relates to the class topic because it exposes us to a lot of struggles from the latino community.

This is somewhat related to the devil's highway in a way. Migrant families get their kids taken for certain reasons. And the kids have to stay in large camps where they’ll be isolated from their families for months at a time, Probably even years. This relates to chicano culture because it once more shows the struggles latinos go through.

To see other latinos write poems from their own experiences and thoughts was beautiful. I enjoyed their metaphors and a small look into their brains. I enjoyed the poem topics a lot. They relate to latino culture in the form of art and provenance of the latino mind.

I enjoyed writing my own poems because I felt like I was able to show a piece of my own mind to the world. Although I accidentally forgot to write about my country, I was still able to show off my thoughts and interests. I also liked reading other people’s poems. They had really nice ones. This relates to latino culture as we were able to write poems in the same fashion as popular latino poets did.

I liked how interesting the course was. It was unlike any other course I’d ever taken. And it was nice to finally get more insight on latino culture. Before this class, I wasn’t very informed about it.

I wouldn’t want a lot of things changed. I just wish we did a few more creative projects like slideshows. But besides that, It was a very fun class. I like the style.
