Growing up in a Roman Catholic family, Carol Ann Duffy went to school in Stafford Girl’s High School where she was encouraged by her English teachers to pursue her passion of poetry. Writing at age of 11, Duffy’s poems were published in Outpost at 15 with the help of her English teacher.
