However I do think that our "answer" and whatever that 'answer" might be to this question can be better understood and found through the ONE STORY that we as individuals believe, and tell ourselves. which leads us to choose to live into and out of. If I can simply divide these "stories"  "beliefs" into 3 Major sections for a vast number of people, then they would be either 
1) The Material/Physical Narrative 
2) The Spiritual Narrative  
3) The Biblical Narrative 
most people if not ALL would be separated into these three categorize which will and do conclude all three contrasting  "answers" in their own way. But then it comes to deciding which stands as close to absolute as the sun rising each morning, because all three cant be true. Its very simple why all three cant be all true. simply said if one claims that this is the ONLY "answer" on who "we are" and another Narrative says something completely differently. This is the idea that all that makes up a human being or an individual is the physical, biochemical reactions that occur in our day to day lives. Then whats the difference between an animal and a human? as discussed in the video about the jellyfish and its similarities to a human brain and our nervous systems. However if all that consist of a human being is our collections of the ability to feel and have thought processes, then why do we spend time teaching our kids to respect other individuals? Maybe then its worth taking into consideration what this answer might mean or imply for our daily relationships with each other as human beings. If that's all that there is to a human being, then why bother treating one kindly and dying to yourself, why bother to love and care for one another? I mean if all that a human being is just flesh and the ability to collect memories, process thoughts and feel, in other words be conscious. What about Individuals who are disabled, who cant process everything surrounding them or collect memories, are they any less of a human being? plus if that is true, what about multiple studies that have been done on chimpanzees.The study concluded that chimp's are in fact very capable of conscious activity to a much smaller degree that a human is capable of, so what does that say then about the worth of a human being now? Is it the same of what we consider an animal? Or is there something bigger then us that claims we are Human beings and what exactly that is a part of us that make us human and valuable as a human?
