Time and place: the short story takes place in the summer in Moss City.   "Moss City Mud" was what the locals called it and it stuck to everything like quick drying cement." Furthermore, the settings are at both the diner and out in the nature of Michigan.
Characters: the maincharacter is Maija "She was a twenty five year old, former stripper who always and meticulously attached accessories to herself in order to attract attention." Maija liked the attention that she could get from men, and could not stand to be ignored by them. She is from the lowerclass environment in the city, and she is poor.

Themes: love, drama, nature, crime, abuse, lowerclass and boundaries. 

Language: it is a everyday-language with some slang-words like: nah, fuck, and so on.
Tone: the tone is very non-formal while the text takes place in a lower-class environment: "You're gonna hook me up right?"
Message: "One thing I can tell you is you got to be free." The beautiful nature symbolises their freedom but also the wilderness's dangerousness. This short story portrays the contrary's of evilness and goodness/kindness. "Their eyes locking in unspoken acknowledgment of nature's providence - an unexpected intrusion from the skies." In the story the connection between the evilness and the nature are being portrayed. All choices have consequences.
