Second Sino-Japanese War - July 1937-1945

The second Sino-Japanese war was fought in China after Japan invaded. This war went on between the two for a long time with much brutality between both until the U.S. ended it with the atomic bombs in 1945.

August 9th, 1945: US bombs Nagasaki

On August 9th, 1945, the US dropped "Fat Man" on the Japanese city of Nagasaki. The estimated death toll was in the hundreds of thousands, with additional health effects for decades to come such as birth defects, lack of blood cells, and much more.

September 2nd, 1945: WWII Ends

After the two bombings finished the war, many other countries strived to develop nuclear power such as, and has continued to today. Currently, Russia has an estimated 5,977 nuclear weapons and the United States has 5,428. If the U.S. Russia went to a nuclear war, the results could be devastating.

Holocaust 1933-1945

The Holocaust was another major event and war that was happening at the same time as WWII with Hitler committing genocide towards all Jews.

Korean War 1950-1953

At this time in the wake of WWII and the Holocaust emerged the Korean War. Tensions had been building up for many years between North and South Korea until North Korean armies- supporting communism, invaded South Korea and started the war.

Vietnam War 1955 - 1975
