Elizabeth Proctor is a straight forward, Puritan woman. She believes everything is cut and dry; good is good and bad is bad. She has a regal and cold air about her. She is also portrayed as the victim throughout the story with being blamed as a witch due to Abigail's jealousy and with John cheating on her with Abigail.

"John... it come to naught that I should forgive you. Will you forgive yourself? It is your soul, John. Only be sure of this, for I know it now: Whatever you will do, it is a good man does it. I have read my heart this three month, John. I have sins of my own to count. It needs a cold wife to prompt lechery..."
Shows how she is confessing her sins that she made which is showing that Elizabeth is a proper Puritan woman.

"There be no mark of blame on my life, Mr.Hale. I am a covenanted Christian woman."
This quote shows how Elizabeth views herself with her religion, and trying to tell everyone that she respects the decision that they have made in the eyes of God

"My husband is a good and righteous man."
Elizabeth saying this shows that she has forgiven John and sees him as she once did. This quote shows her personality different than it has been portrayed throughout the rest of the play up to this point.
