The three things I took away from reading the articles about EL students are:
   1. It is beneficial for El students to have embedded vocabulary in the lessons in order to all them to use higher level thinking. (Do not front-load the vocabulary).
    2. In order for EL student to be successful in the Science classroom, a teacher must take and invest time in planning. In order to have success a teacher must have a careful designed plan of instruction.
3. We as teachers must have embedded strategies in our lesson planning to assist all student but specially EL's . EL students benefit from graphic organizers, diagrams, etc. Having inquiry based pedagogy and teaching strategies will boost students performance and academic success.

There are several effective practices that will not only benefit EL's but all student in general including EL's
  *Graphic organizers, diagrams, bubble maps, webs, word bank.
  *Embedded vocabulary
  *Highlighting of specific vocabulary when reading.
  * Partner or group collaboration
  * Inquiry based instruction
  *Incorporating higher level thinking.
* Students are able to use specific strategies to create meaningful statements about life and everything that surrounds them.

Co-teaching Strategies

I believe co-teaching can be very beneficial to all students and EL students in many ways. Students will have the opportunity to receive the same content from different teachers in different ways. It is also important and benefits EL's greatly because they are exposed to the content more than one time.
Some of the co-teaching strategies I would try would very depending on my classroom and my students needs. However I do not have one specific that I would try or avoid. I believe our number one goal as teachers is the benefit and progress of our students, so with that I believe I would give all the strategies a try as we never know which ones will be successful until we try.
