The bacteria was manufactured as a bioweapon. As it was airborne many people were germinated and was sent to hospital immediately. The doctors were however not aware of what caused the major epidemic, because of the KGB cleaned up any traces that linked the government to the bacteria as it they signed a treaty on not using nor manufacturing bioweapons.

Research on this disease has been made by several countries and an antidote has been developed to counteract bio weapons.
