Hi there, my name is Rizza Balmes, and I'm a psychology major who is particularly interested in how Philippine pop culture reflects and shapes our society. I was exposed to many aspects of pop culture while growing up in the Philippines, which highlighted our diverse customs, tenacity, and inventiveness. Filipino fashion trends, local music and OPM (Original Pilipino Music), contemporary Filipino films that address social concerns, street art and murals that embody the Filipino spirit, and Philippine digital influencers and content producers are some of my interests in Philippine pop culture. All of them reflect the dynamic yet profoundly ingrained core of Filipino identity.
