The quote that i chose was " If one girl is a revolution what happens when the world stands with her".I think Mahtab is looking after her familyand has to travel a very frightful trip all the way to Australia. It takes a lot of courage to not see your dad in a very long time and Mahtab suffered that but she didn't fall down, instead she thought positively and didn't let anything get to her. Mahtab took the courage to leave Afghanistan even though she was worried about 
What will happen in her new country. Mahtab took the courage to comfort her family through the rough trip and even though she may have been tiered her body pushed her and made sure she looked after her family while their dad was not around. Mahtab may have been scared she never gave up she demonstrated COURAGE!

This quote relates to how Mahtab stands up for her family. Stars are always shinning out of the darkness. Mahtab is one of those stars. There  is a quote linking to this in this book.

' Remember? You used to let me sleep up there with Leila and when i was really little you said the sky was a giant ceiling of scattered with diamonds.'

This means that her farther taught her to have courage were ever you are. Mahtab's name also means 'moonlight'. Moons shine out and that's what Mahtab does.

This also connects to O'captain My Captain. The captain stood to fight for his country. He marks a spot in the sky like a star. That's star is always shinning out, even if he is dead. In the beginning when it was dangerous in Afghanistan, she was couragous to stay home, and let her parents to deal with her family leaving. Mahtab was also couragous when she had to leave her family members behind in Adghanistan, and when she had to travel with her family without her knowing if her dad was alive or not, it was hard to stay happy and strong but Mahtab was couragous. 

Another text that showed courage was 'O captain my captain.' In the beginning of the poem, it said their fearful trip is done. This means that the trip/war was scary, but they showed courage to overcome fear and to try hard. But 'O captain my captain' also shows the other side of success; failure. At the end it explains the captain dead. Some fail and some succeed. She had a lot of mental courage by staying well behaved. The other part of the quote saying 'Sometimes courage os a quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow". That part of the quote links to Mahtab because Mahtab keeps on trying and trying to find her dad which, at the end pays off.

The poem Flanders fields links to the quote because the soldiers gave a lot of moral courage to fight for the war and risk their lives for their country. In the movie "Red Dog" Red (the dog) goes on a huge journey all around Australia and to Japan to find his owner. To me this is pretty brave and courageous. To go to Japan he goes on a boat. 
In Mahtabs Story she goes all around Indonesia and Australia to find her father. As well as Red she goes on a boat. 
It takes Red Dog about 3 years to get to finish his journey and it takes Mahtab about 3 years to get to her father.
To me I think they are like twins (even though ones a dog). They both have suffered fortitude

They both connect in the way that Mahtab reunites with her father and the singer is having hope that he will see his friend again.
