         <description><![CDATA[<p><br>Module 1 was very informative; it taught me a great deal of information about management concepts and its background. Before reading through the chapters I was unaware of a few things within the chapters. Such as the concept of functions<br>of management; which was put forth by Henri Fayol, a management theorist from<br>France, influential in proposing many of the management concepts in use today. Fayol, proposed five management functions; namely, planning, organizing,<br>commanding, coordinating and controlling. But modern texts have reduced the<br>functions from five to four. Which includes planning, organizing, leading, and<br>controlling. Thesis four concepts of management, are translated into functions<br>lead to the creation of a cohesive organization. I also enjoyed reading about the<br>different activities,<br>but overall the most favorable activity to me is the people-related activities.<br>I say this because it’s similar to the Frederick Taylor's Theory. Taylor's theory evaluates the<br>relationship between management, workers and the way their jobs are designed. I<br>think by using this skill I’m able to interact with others on the job better.<br>In order to get better results within a working environment. But according to Taylor, jobs should be designed for the workers over time. Organizations should<br>also be divided into strict division in which workers and management are<br>separated; workers doing the physical work and managers doing the mental work. But after reviewing all of this new information; I’m proud to say that I’m knowledgeable<br>and aware of the steps in order to properly maintain as well as manage a small<br>group of individuals. I think these photos represents the steps as well as the reasonability of employees and employers working together.          <description><![CDATA[<p><span></span>&nbsp;</p><span><p>&nbsp;I really enjoyed this week’s topic, it was something I feel anyone could learn<br>and carry the information with them. When you speak about workplace diversity, and it is essential to completeness to a stronger work environment. Creative people seem to like and thrive in an environment that is diverse. There are several<br>benefits to workplace diversity. I once read a quote and it stated; “It’s<br>important to build your knowledge and understanding of different groups so that you do not rely on bias stereotypes that exist due to a lack of information’. Which clearly means you don’t want to offend people simply because levels of education, opinions and philosophes, skills and professions. We live in a globalized world. Every community offers something of its own to the economy.<br>Diversity brings both the ability to take advantage of special skills that<br>others contribute to the workplace.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Module 3 gave me a lot of insight of the management world. I feel that it’s something that I would like to continue to learn about. I also enjoyed the different articles that the classmates provided for everyone’s review. Lastly, the Marriott assignment was pretty interesting; it forced me to learn more about something that I see on a daily bases. I’m very grateful for the information that I’ve learn about the Marriott; and it actually seems like a great company to possibly work for as an employee.&nbsp; I really liked these photos; it fits this module very well.          <description><![CDATA[<p>I think recruiters were needed back in the day to be the middle man; to help<br>connect employers with employees. But as of now I think companies are bringing<br>the recruiting in house; which is saving time and money in the long run. It’s<br>saving them the unnecessary workload of working with external talent search<br>agencies vs. old fashion in house recruiting. By performing the search in<br>house, it would allow the company to control every step of the way.          <description><![CDATA[<br>I learned a lot about this Life Cycle Theory of<br>Leadership; which is based off the Life Cycle Theory of Leadership. The continuum presents a range of action related to the degree of authority used by the manager and to the area of freedom available to non-managers in arriving at<br>decisions. And managers<br>are also usually characterized according to the degree of control that is maintained by he/she. I think managers have to be very careful about the way they go about things; within the workplace.
