Module 1 was very informative; it taught me a great deal of information about management concepts and its background. Before reading through the chapters I was unaware of a few things within the chapters. Such as the concept of functions
of management; which was put forth by Henri Fayol, a management theorist from
France, influential in proposing many of the management concepts in use today. Fayol, proposed five management functions; namely, planning, organizing,
commanding, coordinating and controlling. But modern texts have reduced the
functions from five to four. Which includes planning, organizing, leading, and
controlling. Thesis four concepts of management, are translated into functions
lead to the creation of a cohesive organization. I also enjoyed reading about the
different activities,
but overall the most favorable activity to me is the people-related activities.
I say this because it’s similar to the Frederick Taylor's Theory. Taylor's theory evaluates the
relationship between management, workers and the way their jobs are designed. I
think by using this skill I’m able to interact with others on the job better.
In order to get better results within a working environment. But according to Taylor, jobs should be designed for the workers over time. Organizations should
also be divided into strict division in which workers and management are
separated; workers doing the physical work and managers doing the mental work. But after reviewing all of this new information; I’m proud to say that I’m knowledgeable
and aware of the steps in order to properly maintain as well as manage a small
group of individuals. I think these photos represents the steps as well as the reasonability of employees and employers working together. Which falls under the steps of management
concepts.

I really enjoyed this week’s topic, it was something I feel anyone could learn
and carry the information with them. When you speak about workplace diversity, and it is essential to completeness to a stronger work environment. Creative people seem to like and thrive in an environment that is diverse. There are several
benefits to workplace diversity. I once read a quote and it stated; “It’s
important to build your knowledge and understanding of different groups so that you do not rely on bias stereotypes that exist due to a lack of information’. Which clearly means you don’t want to offend people simply because levels of education, opinions and philosophes, skills and professions. We live in a globalized world. Every community offers something of its own to the economy.
Diversity brings both the ability to take advantage of special skills that
others contribute to the workplace. I think these photos represents diversity very well and that’s why I picked these photos.

Module 3 gave me a lot of insight of the management world. I feel that it’s something that I would like to continue to learn about. I also enjoyed the different articles that the classmates provided for everyone’s review. Lastly, the Marriott assignment was pretty interesting; it forced me to learn more about something that I see on a daily bases. I’m very grateful for the information that I’ve learn about the Marriott; and it actually seems like a great company to possibly work for as an employee. I really liked these photos; it fits this module very well. Along with some of the assignments.

Chapter’s 7-9 has the ability to prepare me for a great deal of things. That I could use throughout my time as a management leader. It gives me insight on problem solving, along with the knowledge to properly identify ways to assign work to others and much more. I think by learning these skills;
it would help me become a better leader within my organization. These photos are an all around one ; all of them fit not only into this module, but most of the modules.

After reviewing and preparing the assignments for
submission. I believe that I have learn a great deal of information. In my
opinion this particular assignment was a little challenging. I sent a lot of
time; trying to get the assignment right. But overall I believe that I have the
basics. As we carry on with the semester; I’m begging to see that having a
management position easy. But overall I feel that I can use this information,
throughout my career. I picked these photos; because it reminds me any type of business meeting

I think recruiters were needed back in the day to be the middle man; to help
connect employers with employees. But as of now I think companies are bringing
the recruiting in house; which is saving time and money in the long run. It’s
saving them the unnecessary workload of working with external talent search
agencies vs. old fashion in house recruiting. By performing the search in
house, it would allow the company to control every step of the way. Their able
to search and pick through all qualified applicants, without a third party involved.

I picked these photos because it represents recruitment along with the different stages for recruitment.

I learned a lot about this Life Cycle Theory of
Leadership; which is based off the Life Cycle Theory of Leadership. The continuum presents a range of action related to the degree of authority used by the manager and to the area of freedom available to non-managers in arriving at
decisions. And managers
are also usually characterized according to the degree of control that is maintained by he/she. I think managers have to be very careful about the way they go about things; within the workplace. I picked these photos because it represent the Life
Cycle of Leadership.

Now that were at the end of the semester; I can know
say that I understand management a little better. I really enjoyed the course,
along with the heavy workload. But it’s all worth it in the end. I feel that
I’m better prepared for the management; and I would be able to make great
decisions that would benefit both the company, employees and myself. I picked these photos because it represent the entire course and what we’ve been learning.
