I think that Lincoln was a great president. I enjoy that he would use his personal stories to relate to something going on in his presidential life. These stories often gave people a better idea of what he was trying to do and why he was trying to do it. Lincoln was a great leader. He knew what he wanted and he was going to do everything in his power to get it. He was very determined, which left a very lasting impression on the United States.

I learned that Abraham Lincoln was always calm and able to get the last word in. I also learned that he was very politically skilled. He showed these skills by pushing for the Emancipation Proclamation before the end of the war. I admired how he saw life and politics in a passive way. He showed that he was very strong for being able to go on as president even though his son had died.

He was able to see why the 13th amendment needed to be passed when it did, and able to see above stigmas and stereotypes.
- I admired that he didn't let his past stop him or limit him. He was a very intelligent man who always knew what to say to persuade the person he is talking to.
