The main benefit for this discussion would be the success of The Hundred and of shorter series that with similar setup could be competed at the Olympics.

I feel the current epicenter of most modern world sport is within Europe with many sports being focused across the continent but there is a growing trend for countries in the middle east to be taking their place within the sporting world. There is a great effort from the leaders of middle east countries such as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain to attract sports to their country as well as developing their own nations competitors. Saudi Arabia is certainly something to keep an eye on over the next decade or so as recently they've thrown large money at the F1 and Boxing for example to bring it to their country. There is also the obvious choices of China and the US who dominate the Olympics standings

It appeared at the Olympics for the first time at the most recent event and it's a sport that could generate great interest as well as being a sport that is very accessible for anyone who watches and decides they want to give it a try themselves. It's definitely a sport with large potential imo.

It's also a fairly accessible sport, as most adults and children have a bike and whilst most would find mountain biking possibly too extreme, lots would be inspired to at least have a go.

The biggest sport in the world, football, is at its highest level in Europe with its domestic leagues. In Asia at this years Tokyo Olympics countries like Japan and China stole the show in the Gymnastics and other athletic events.

Meanwhile across the pond the US gross some of the highest viewing figures in sport with the NFL American Football and the NBA Basketball league featuring at the top of the list.

The slalom and sprint cannoning really grip me every Olympics as its often really quick and intense with no room for error and i think it cold gain a bigger audience.
