What is Universal Design?

Universal Design is a building or house that meets the needs for all people. Such as handicap, people with disabilities, and people without them. The house is built with easy useable things and technology if necessary.

Another example of universal design could be technology such as a touch screen dishwasher, sensor touch doors, censored touch sink, etc.

Another example would be smoke detector and automatic alarm to make sure your house is secured.

Grip bars would help a disabled person in the shower to reassure that they safe and comfortable while bathing or showering.

Lower pull out cabinets could be a important universal design in the house.

Our clients Anna and Mitch Williams would like a house potential and space. Also a safe house for Mitch who has multiple sclerosis. So he is handicapped, Anna who is a teacher would love office for grading papers. They would like a house that can be used future family, Also would love a side garden, and their style is a craftsman house.

Samples Of Universal Design.

1. We choose to use green paint in our Master Bedroom walls ... and this paint is LED free to keep the air clean and its environmental friendly type of paint.
2. We used handicap grip bars .... which is apart of the universal design aspect. It assures that the handicap or anyone in general is safe when bathing.
3.We used environmentally friendly lights. That have censor to turn off when they aren't in use to save energy.
4.We decided to make the floors textured and wooden so that Mitch has aa smooth ride while in his wheel chair. Also the couple has pets which leads and easy clean up. Whether its a dog mistake or liquid in general. Wooden floors are always a go to .
5. We choose to have a lighter color roof because light colored things absorb less heat and we want the house to stay nice cool .
6. We incorporated nice real feather pillows to add design to there Celtic look and style of house.
