It's a touching film that shows the reality of that epoch, especially with the social discrimination against blacks. This makes you think about many things like how lucky we are, or how to grow against adversity. This movie has a great and beautiful message, I think everyone should see this movie, the teaching and the feeling it brings after seeing it, it's something that we can't lose, after all, we don't have nothing more to do.

I saw this movie when I was young, and at that time I don't understand much of the movie, especially because it was in English, when I saw it, but despite the few parts that I could grasp, I saw the growth of an intelligent and strong man. It inspired me to try harder in life, but still it left me the doubt of many parts that I had not been able to understand, so after a while I went back to look for it and I saw it again, but this time in Spanish. Now every time I remember the movie, I want to see it again, it's a beautiful movie, and I have nothing to say against it, after all it shows a person's life.

It's inspiring to look at how first of all a mother raises her two children, amid prejudice and without knowing how to read, she knew how to guide her children in the worst moments. But our protagonist is her little son Ben Carson, he becaming a surgeon was unusual, starting with the fact that he didn't go to college classes, this didn't matter when he was the only one who could solve a point of the exam. When he entered an internal doctor in a hospital, he had to do an emergency operation without supervision, at the end the operation was successful and he was given a scholarship to do a specialization. He grew up as a renowned surgeon, with many more cases. It was admirable to see how he worked in each case and in any problem.
