I think one of achievement of ancient Sumerians was irrigation.
We know that there was an irrigation system in Sumerian civilisation because of physical evidence. They used irrigation for provide water for grow crops. It is an achievement because now days we know about it.

One of the achievements of the Sumerians was making the wheel, and over there people have found the oldest forms of wheels they could find. Wheels are simple machines and make heavy things more efficient to move around. So far they were the oldest wheels to be found. This is a great achievement as they also seemed to do a lot of building, so maybe they used carts.

An achievements of the Sumerians was their irrigation systems. We know this because we have physical evidence of the irrigation systems. I think that this was an achievement because they came up with technology for it, and managed to create it. They used this system to provide water throughout the city to use for drinking, cleaning and crops. This system was a major achievement of the Sumerians.

One of the Sumerians achievements is writing, we know that because of our physical  evidence of stories and writings. That probably means they were very advanced for their time. The first ever story written was written by the  Sumerians. It was the first ever evidence of writing so it must be an achievement.
