Nikon D3400. No other lenses. 2 batteries. Tripod. 
I want to be able to understand the basics to be able to shoot on manual.
Battery is charged on mains and fitted by pushing back the removing yellow tab that holds it in place, then replacing the slide cover. 
I learnt about ISO and how it is able to brighten or darken the photograph through light sensitivity and importance of correct exposure. This was practiced in reception. 
Shutter speed: time sensitive measured in fractions/seconds.
Aperture works like a human pupil/lens letting light in. 
I probably have confusion when we start to use all three in different circumstances upon requiring different set up.

I have added a range of existing photographs that demonstrate composition all taken by myself on my DSLR or mobile phone.

Which invites you to see the show.

“A light meter is only a guide. It shouldn’t be used literally.  When I decided to tone down the strobe, we made it even with the natural light rather than being a stop over. Then we went a stop or two under the natural light. I liked the way things looked when they were barely lit. The darker pictures seemed refined, mysterious.”

Kelpies: 
for both and individual kelpie I retouched sky to loose birds and electrical cables and light column. Saturated sky to make 35.51 blue hue & sharpened intensity to 0.24.

Stirling Castle onto Wallace Monument:
Cropped all sides to focus on rule of thirds. Grass was saturated at +50.48 to bring attention to the distance, this also changed the wall colour green but did give it a more saturated depth. The canon was saturated to maintain neutral black -88.07 and luminance +34.07. I played around with this a lot as changed to a blue hue, eventually being happy with my eye and not taking too much notice of the figures. 

Borders Landscape:
I cropped to create an elongated horizontal image, this demonstrated a clearer rule of thirds. I adjusted light and colour so it showed a flourishing greener landscape rather than the full day it was, finished with a 0.24 definition. 

Stirling Cemetery:
Changed to black and white. 
Vignette softness 0.77
Definition 0.75
Cropped to highest point of right hand rock to create a convex shape at the bottom. 

Snowdrops in the Wind:
Cropped all sides to focus on the main plant.
Added levels of green to enhance stalks.
