On April 13, 2024, Iran launched about 300 misiles at Israel in retaliation for the ongoing Israel-Palestine war. This led Israel to fire back at Iran escalating tensions in the Middle East. I did not really feel anything when I heard the news as I feel like the U.S. will not engage and will try to remain out of the conflict.

Currently, my favorite video game is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. I love playing with my friends and I like learning from other YouTubers who explain how to deal with certain situations.

I started to like going outside and walking around my city with my friends. We walk around together for a few hours and talk and we usually go to McDonald’s or Starbucks to get something to snack on.

This school year, I started rock climbing and going to the gym more. During the week, I have a busy after school schedule and I am always excited for the weekend because of how tired I get during the week.

My thoughts on AI

In the recent months, AI has become more and more powerful as technology companies innovate more and more. While AI might seem scary to some, I think that we are a long way off from it taking over the world. In the right mindset, AI is a very helpful tool. It helped me design a business website, and it helps me start creating presentations on Canva. Additionally, AI can also be used to cheat, and there is little to no accurate detection software. I think that if students are able to cheat, they most likely will if they need to. In summary, AI can be a helpful tool for creativity, but can also be detrimental for education as it allows students to cheat.

My thoughts on 8th grade

My first day in eight grade felt different compared to the first day of seventh grade. There are many similarities that made eight grade feel very familiar from the start. I like the fact that I got put in classes with my friends this year, and I feel as if I enjoy my classes more than in seventh grade. I really like my teachers this year. I feel that I could connect with them more than in seventh grade. At first I thought that this year would be harder than seventh, but it was the opposite. I carried my good grades from the start of the school year all the way to summer. I also enjoy the fact that Classlink is not new to me anymore. When we switched from Google Classroom to Schoology at the beginning of seventh grade, it was a mess. There were many errors, and there was lots of confusion. I feel like eight grade is very similar to the experience you get in seventh.

TikTok sues to block prospective U.S. app ban

In April of 2024, the president of the United States, Joe Biden, signed a bill that would ultimately ban the popular social media app, TikTok, from use in the U.S. When I heard this news, I was a bit surprised as I think that TikTok does not do anything wrong other than attract people to phones more than they already are. I stopped watching TikTok in the summer of 2023 as I felt as Instagram was better. I feel like if TikTok is banned in the U.S., then Instagram will become a monopoly as it is really the only social media anybody else uses at the moment.

My Mom’s Thoughts on the War in the Middle East

She thinks that the conflict is not something to be worried about as the U.S, and U.N. are trying their best to prevent major damage.
In her opinion, all countries are trying to stay out of the conflict as it is detrimental to everyone involved.

My Dad’s Thoughts on the COVID 19 Pandemic

In his opinion, the COVID 19 pandemic was nothing to worry about, for us at least. I got COVID after the pandemic and it was nothing that I hadn’t experienced before.
He understands though, that it impacted many families around the world, and it was not as easy for others.
