Yonkers has a wonderful history with people who helped make it the place it is today. The ways things changed with war and trades made a big impact on Yonkers. Some of the history also made us become a part of the county of westchester. Yonkers was actually founded by native Americans such as the Algonquin,Mohegan and man hatters tribes but then came the settlers who changed everything. Somehow the tribes disappeared when new people came

We think that its astonishing how something can change so quickly overtime we also think that it's cool how Yonkers has such a long and cool history. We were wondering how the natives suddenly vanished overtime at first we thought that maybe they vanished from a natural disaster but later we learned that they vanished from war which makes sense because this was near or at the time period when we were at war with the British. We think it's cool how we can look at the story and see the pictures of history and compare them to real life.Another thing we find cool is that we can learn history from where we live from an article and it makes us think what can happen in such short time so we start to think about what would happen in the future. We think it's awesome how all of Yonkers evolved when it comes to cars, the environment, and the lakes.
