In this blog I am going to document my journey developing three skills that will help me improve as a music producer and open pathways for further development. I am going to be focusing on three skill. Skill number one is developing my knowledge of the es2 synthesizer on logic pro X; this will involve me having a go at labeling segments of the synthesizer and after that I will be watching a video explaining what each segment does. After researching I will label the synth again and with my new knowledge, I should be able to show that I know more by being able to label the synth in more detail. Knowing how a synth works is key as it will allow me to create desired sounds when producing electronic music. Skill number two is developing my ability to read sheet music; I will start off with basic single note reading then develop to identifying chords. As a music producer it's good to have a good understanding of sheet music as when producing for people it will be useful. Finally, for my third skill I will be looking into song structure. I will start off by having a guess at what the song structure of a certain genre then after I will research what the structure is. Knowing the structure for genres is key as following what works will steer the track being produced in a good direction.
