My verse will be aiding in the fight against climate change and the rehabilitation of endangered animal species. I will educate myself at the best school and focus my education on how I will achieve the greatest impact on our Earth. I will strive to better the planet not only by my own changing of destructive ways but in the education of others through environmental research and publication. My goal is to work on a wildlife reserve in one of the remote and beautiful portions of the world as a veterinary specialist as well as a researcher in climate and ecosystem sciences where everyday my love for nature can flourish and make a difference. I will leave this planet having done all I can to save the creatures who share this Earth with the human population and who we have so cruelly pushed the needs of aside in the wake of our industrialization and griping for economic glory. I will fight for every creature who has no voice to fight for themselves and along the way educate another generation of those who believe we must do better for our planet.

Walt Whitman's poem affected me deeply so to the fact that it made me reflect inwardly on my life's goals and think about how my life is going to leave a mark on this world. The in class viewing was not the first time I have seen the film Dead Poet's Society so when I was told we would be watching it I was overjoyed that I would be watching one of my favorite films. Upon watching the film in class I was able to connect more deeply to its meaning and gain for the first time a full understanding of what its message really is, "carpe diem", seize the day and live your life on your own terms. You only have one life. Live it well.
