Seeing folks open up, join in laughter, taking risks, trying new things- this is what I love about games, activities, and songs at RYLA. They helps us step into a challenge zone mindset. If I'm willing to sing and dance in front of all these people, then your darn sure I'll be willing to support them, even if I don't know them that well. While it is so hard to pick a favorite game, song or activity at RYLA, a fond memory of mine is going way back to camper year, participating in my first blind trust walk. I remember climbing over tables, being splashed with water, brushed with branches- by the end of the activity we were laughing so hard, but were so thankful for the person who led us through the challenge. Not only is it a fun game but it allows for great transformations. All of a sudden you hear quiet folks screaming "four shift gear box!!" at the top of their lungs with a smile. I also remember having a great time facilitating the game at the Interact conference at Oxford Hills High School. Songs on Tuesday night always took on that added excitement.  It the night when campers and staff seem to all come together.   Purple Stew.  Need I say more. Who was it that had a shovel for their spoon? Jacey? Jack?

Nothing compares to the laughs that RUMBLE seems to bring out in me.  This has been true from my first year as director.  

That year Natalie sent me to bed (it was somewhere between midnight and 1) because I was laughing too loud.

Who can forget the joy of last year when Nicole placed a clothespin on someone else officially entering her into the game.
