I have 2 parents and 2 older half brothers. Both my mom and dad come from conservative households. One of my brothers is conservative while the other one is more moderate. Most of my family does live in Colorado however my grandma (moms side) is German and some of her beliefs kind of passed onto my mom.

Since I am both a woman and a part of the LGBTQ+ community my Political ideology is kind of shaped by that. Along with the fact that a lot of my friends are also women and apart of the LGBTQ+ community, because of my friends and the people I surround myself with I am very open about my identity. However my parents and extended family don't know about my sexuality (besides 1 of my brothers).

I have lived in Colorado (in the same house) my whole life so I have lived around both sides of the spectrum. In my house I have been exposed to the more Right leaning side but at school and outside of my house in general I am more exposed to the left leaning side just based on who I choose to surround myself with.

Religion

I myself am not super religious (i don't know what I really believe I guess). But my dad is super christian and attends church alone sometimes, where as my mom isn't very religious at all and neither is the rest of my family. Since my family isn't super religious overall I haven't been exposed to religion a lot which has shaped my Political ideology.

Being Gen Z I have gone through certain things that have definitely shaped my Political ideology. Such as COVID, being stuck at home got me more informed on society and also allowed me to be online more where I met a lot of new people. I was exposed to more of the internet, and I started to think about how politics shape my life and other peoples lives around me.
