I listed learning outcomes to support my proposal for a new undergrad course that will be offered next year. This is an elective course. I believe explicitly stating what learning outcomes are especially useful for elective courses because then students can see if the outcomes are something they are particularly interested in. It could be a deciding factor for enrollment.

I use learning outcomes in creating the syllabus and planning courses and in planning each lesson. Every lecture and learning activity has to match a learning outcome. Also, knowing the program learning outcomes has helped me create a learning outcome related to policy development and then create a policy submission assignment to match it.
