I have always loved being around children. I had the chance to go to Costa Rica on a mission trip two summers in a row. During these weeks I was able to interact with children who desperately sought after an education and were fascinated with all things learning. It made me take a step back and realize who fortunate I am to be able to have been born in a family that prioritized my education. I wanted to be able to help students access that in a way that made learning fun. It gave me a new perspective to never take teaching or school for granted.

What I do outside of the Classroom

When I am not in the classroom, I love spending quality time with those around me. That might be my family, friends, or dog, Lila. It is so important that I prioritize not only my class but also the people in my life that are not at school. I love going to play pickleball, watch movies, eat good food, and so many other things. I love playing my guitar and singing with my friends also. These are the things that give me joy outside of school hours.

My mom has been a teacher for as long as I can remember. I used to love seeing what outfit she would wear to school and how she would talk about how much she loved teaching and her class. She always has said that teaching doesn't even feel like a job, because she is just simply doing what she loves. This is why I am so excited to be teaching.
