It all started in September, 2022. I was a high school student in Saltillo, Coahuila.

In August I moved into my apartment in Monterrey. My parents helped me set everything up, my boyfriend helped me put together all my furniture, and my friends and I would gather up to have deep talks and help each other through this process.

First threshold

The first threshold could be the tollbooth from Saltillo to Monterrey because it marks the separation from my known world to the unknown one. The second one could be the guardhouse from my university, because it separates my normal/personal life from my academic life.

I relate Sasquatch with my eating habits. Sasquatch or “bigfoot” is known for eating children (I don't) but I do have bad eating habits, I don't eat as much as I should because I'm lazy and don't want to cook.

My community inside of Tecnológico de Monterrey is Reflekto. My mentor is Laura Martinez. I have talked to her a couple times and she is really nice and friendly.

Temptations

Some of the temptations I have faced is wanting to skip class, or wanting to leave earlier than I should because I get bored. I also face the temptations of going out everyday, because the next morning I don’t want to get out of bed.

Superpowers

I am very responsible, even though sometimes temptations win, I still manage to be responsible. I am also very organized, which helps to structure all my ideas in my head.

I am very thankful for the opportunities I have been given, and I won’t disappoint. Even though I didn’t have any class related to architecture this semester, I don’t complain. I learnt a lot of stuff and it will stick with me for the rest of my life.

Master of two worlds

In order to master both worlds, I think I need to find a balance between my family and friends. I still haven’t found that balance yet, because I don’t see my family the whole week, and on the weekends when I can finally see them, I go out with friends and don’t see my family as much as I’d like. Maybe next semester I will find that balance. I hope I do so.
