,, Let Your Hand Create A Life,, A meeting place - Akcent on youngsters - Prahova cultural educational magazine, offers you an international educational incursion through a project from eTwinning, the community of schools in Europe for today.
If for a part of us, digitization as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic has been a novelty with increased difficulty, for another part of the education system, digitization began in 2005, with the launch of the eTwinning platform as part fundamental component of the eLearning programme of the European Commission, becoming from 2014 integral part of Erasmus +, EU Education, Training, Youth and Sport Programme.
eTwinning therefore represents a platform for communication, collaboration, project start and exchange of information, promoting school collaboration in Europe through communication and information technologies (ICT), providing assistance, working tools and services to schools, opportunities for continuous professional development, online and free for teachers as well as examples of successful projects.
In Romania, under the Erasmus program +, the eTwinning action is coordinated by the Institute of Education Sciences, already today having a rich consistency in the activity done, more precisely 24256 projects, 33733 teachers from 9881 Romanian schools.
The eTwinning school represents both a recognition of the personal success of the teachers and a confirmation of the great results achieved by the entire eTwinning team from these schools.
And because I remembered about collaboration, I recently learned through a teacher (about which we will tell in a future article) who is active in one of the European schools in Romania, about his collaboration on the eTwinning platform in an educational project about ecology through technology and handmade
The project is titled ′′ Let Your Hands Create A Life ′′ and is founded by Seher Șeref-teacher in Zeki Sabah Primary School and Gulshen Sarikose, a teacher in Yusuf Bayik Primary school, both institutions being the European school in Mersin, Turkey.

,,Our project will end in November 2020-May 2021. With our project, our students will not only design with wastes, but also gain awareness about efficient use of resources and recycling with our project, Design,Technology and learning pedagogies in collaboration. The project theme is based on reducing the impact of human activities on the environment through the 3 R: Reduce, Reuse, Waste Recycling, thus supporting consumerism and,, zero waste ".
The project has collaboration and dissemination partners in Turkey, Romania, Portugal, Macedonia and Albania. It works well established goals, based on an action plan through structured activities, monthly themes and final evaluations.
During the activity of December 2020 entitled ′′ Plastic Bottles Meet With Flowers ", students from participating countries recycled plastic bottles using handmade techniques, transforming them into flower support, supporting ′′ zero waste ′′ through,, clouds of words ", using digital tools. The activity has as a final product a representative video collage of the activities supported by each school / classroom and also a video collage that includes the activity of all the schools involved.

In January, the activity is called ′′ Waste Papers Meet With Tangram Game ′′ with the final product a digital book, made through the Bookcreator app, which shows the activities carried out by the students. The book was made by teachers with children's activities for those younger and even students for older ages cycles.

During this activity, the students of one of the participating Romanian schools, thus learned about compost, differentiated sorting and the importance of recycling, using the Braistorming method, Popplet app, making paper and wood objects through tangram and supporting pencils from recycled materials, through various handmade techniques.
In Mersin, Turkey, the pupils of the founders Seher Șeref and Gulshen Sarikose made through the Popplet app - the mind map, a method by which they learned about the benefits of recilment and the harm done by animal waste, about paper and the recycling circuit, classified recyclable materials and realized differentiated sorting boxes using tangram and recyclable materials, debating these themes both physically in classrooms and online together with participating partners.
,, I Make Transportation Vehicles From Waste Materials ′′ is the February theme that uses the Animoto app to make animated photo collage, as the final product of the student activity in which they learn about public transport through the Learning apps, making means transportation from egg coffers and puzzles on the same topic through the Jigsaw puzzle app.

March is about,, Seasonal Strip ", the theme where students learn the seasons through various methods: typylopicture, painting on t-shirts,,, Umbrella of the season ", etc. as it appears from the final photo collage. At the same time, March is celebrating in the project ′′ World Water Day ′′ which brings together in an online ludic activity, students and teachers from participating countries, using the Magic Boxes from Wordwall app.
April is the month when students make female and male suits from recyclable materials, within the theme,, Creative dresses ". Also, they learn to use the Quiver app through which they give life to drawings.
Apart from monthly themes, the project also celebrates various special days, through online Webinar activities that include all participants of the individual project or teams of students of two or more countries as previously seen regarding,, World Day Water ′′ or such as ′′ Celebrations with Christmas - Mask and Greetings Card ′′ during which online activities were done.

Another such theme is celebrated on February 9 :,, Safer internet day ", at which point the children from the project formed the message from the title of the theme through a common coding activity, through pixelation according to the legend of colors.

At the end of the project, the teacher designated by the founder makes ′′ Our Common Story ′′ the digital book of project activities. The book of the project presented is titled,, IT IS IN OUR HANDS TO PROTECT NATURE ", indicating as moral the possibility of changing the future of the planet through the message,, Nature is,, forsted to us. A very large project, with multiple, interesting activities that develops digital skills for children, their creativity, broadens their sphere of life experiences facilitating their learning English, offers them the opening to many types of knowledge, understanding, learning through awareness and cultural expression, sparking their interest in knowing the stories, the traditions of each collaborating country.
