    2. Subsistence farming is what you farm for food, for example the New England and Middle colonies. Cash crop is crops that can sell easily like tobacco or indigo. This kind of crops is mostly farm at southern colonies. Agriculture makes the colonies in to three different type of industries. For example, New England and Middle colonies isn’t a good place for agriculture so they built ships or manufacture or trading other than farming. But the southern colonies has a good geography for farming so they mostly farm cash crops.
