-Palestine.  Palestine has been granted the status ofnon-member observer state. Palestine is not in the UN because of it's current state of conflict with Israel, who consider them as part of Israel and not an independent nation

Kosovo is not in the UN because since its split from Serbia in 1991 it has not gained full international recognition

Taiwan is not in the UN because the USA is not able to recognise it as a country as it would start a war with China. (Even though Taiwan has its own government, elections, president, flag etc.) Since 1971 China has assumed control of Taiwan's membership in the UN, considering it part of the People's Republic of China
