         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Who are they? </p><p>An immersive theatre company located in London who aim to "Shatter your illusion of reality". </p></li><li><p>Style/Performance Type:</p><p>Based on what they've published their performances heavily use environmental storytelling whilst also working with people who have experienced what's attempting to be portrayed. </p><p>Examples of this is "Prison" which places audiences in cells for an evening to experience the lives of a prisoner. Which they have claimed to have based on interviews with ex-criminals and current-criminals. </p></li><li><p>I couldn't find any existing controversy but I would guess that their take on exposing these sensitive issues could be perceived as controversial. Redcape is run by artistic directors Cassie Friend and Rebecca Loukes.  It came together in 2006. </p></li><li><p>The Style/ type of performance</p><p>Redcape commit to telling original stories that aim to move and entertain an audience. The words of the people we meet form the backbone of our shows, giving voice to the voiceless, painting powerful and very human alternative social commentaries."</p></blockquote><p><strong><mark>The Style/ type of performance?</mark></strong></p><p>A lot of their performances are pieces of verbatim theatre. It may also simply be an unconventional space for theatre (for example, a&nbsp;forest). Site-specific theatre seeks to use the properties of a unique site's landscape, rather than a typical theatre stage, to add depth to a theatrical production. Sites are selected based on their ability to amplify storytelling and form a more vivid backdrop for the actors in a theatrical production. A performance in a traditional theatre venue that has been transformed to resemble a specific space (for example, a&nbsp;junkyard), can also be considered as site-specific, as long as it no longer has the functionality (i.e. seats, stages) that a traditional theatre would have.</p>]]></description>
