2. Dogs listen to their owners. They obey you if trained the right way. Cats have a mind of their own, they do what they want to when they want to.
3. Dogs have twice the amount of neutrons than cats in their cerebral corteges which means dogs are twice as smarter than cats. I'm sorry but who wants a dumb animal? Not me, that is why dogs are just overall better than cats. 
4. Dogs respond to their owners. Every dog will turn their head, run or walk to you if their name is being called they will come to you they are obedient. Cats.. they ignore you if they don't care/know why you are calling them they do as they please.

Cats will let it be known how they feel, if they are uncomfortable, happy, scared, tired, they won't hide it. They are very true to themselves. people who don't like cats are up tight and get upset when something doesn't go their way. They whine about everything, that's why they don't like cats. You cannot control everything in your life, especially living beings. Cats are very smart, and they can sense the bad energy on people, their moods can change just from the  negative energy around them. They come in very diverse patterns, and attitudes. They can have dark browns mixed with beige, to having a whole pallet of colors spread across them. Cats will in fact come when you call, they love being on schedule with their owners, and follow them around. Cats will go hunting mice and birds for you to make sure you are eating because they don't see you hunting for yourself.

They have been proven to recall things from 10 years out. Then if you take into account that the most a dog or cat can do is tricks or remember to go to the bathroom you don't really need to care for how smart the animal is. In reality if you want and animal to do tricks or be trained then you will have to have a refresher course for the dog every so often which cost more money compared to a cat who can do it their entire lives after learned.
Also in a 2008 study, found that cat owners are 30% less likely to die of a heart attack compared to dog owners. Although this may be due to owners have a predisposition to it, the fact still stands.
Finally is maintenance and cost. Cats are far less labor intensive. When was the last time you washed a cat? Then their relatively small size makes them cost less in food and water.

If you don't want a dog that sheds all over the place like crazy you can get a dog with short hair. If you want a dog to cuddle with and relax with you you can get a smaller dog. And plus, dogs don't have sharp claws that can scratch you up. Most cats are moody, only act friendly it you when they want something (trust me I know), and scratch up all your furniture even when you have sprayed them with water almost a million and one times. Dogs are also easier to train and are not picky with food. Plus, they know no means no. I'm talking about you Dexter (Dexter is my bratty cat)!!! So when it comes down to it all, dogs are obviously the better one of the two animals to go with.
