I had an Amazon wish-list that mostly consisted of pencils, whiteboard markers and tissues and had very low expectations of getting things purchased (usually elementary teachers get most of the attention since they need SO many things to decorate their classroom). Doctors weren't sure that she would survive, and, if she did survive, were very uncertain about the quality of brain function she would retain. 

On Tuesday August 16, I took her for her 1 year follow-up angiogram. Physically, everything inside her head is functioning properly! Even more importantly, in the past year she has returned to driving and working full time, continues to live by herself and take care of all of her own needs, and has no noticeable lingering impacts. This summer, she got to meet her second grand-child (NOT MINE!)

I'm inspired every day by her outlook on life and how hard she worked through her recovery.  

I'm also inspired by the community here who helped support me as I dealt with all the medical and emotional everything!
