Materials: Colored Pencils

Process: I began this piece by tracing a picture I took of my friend and I. After, I went over all of my lines and corrected them. I then painted the base color for our skin, hair, eyes, clothes, and background. I went in with purples, yellows, pinks, and peach for the skin tone and the shadows around it. After I finished that, I colored in the mouths with pinks and purples. Then I colored in the eyes, and eyebrows. I then colored in the darkest parts of the piece, like my mouth, nose, eyes, and our hair. Finally, I colored in the hair and clothes and added different purples and blue colors to the background.

Experimentation: I experimented on the face, using blues, pinks, and purples for shadows rather than black or a darker shade of the skin color.

Materials: Graphite Pencils

Process: I started by putting down a grid, then outlining the cymbals. After that I added the drum heads in and then started drawing the hair. From the hair i added the bottom half of the face and worked down to the shirt. Seperately, I drew the hands and then the arms and connected them to the shirt i was previously drawing. I then filled in the hair and torso. I worked on the cymbals one by one next by drawing lines in a circular motion and erasing to add highlights. The cymbals took the longest and then I finally got to work on the toms and the snare drums which were easy because they are just circles. I added A dark background after and made it look like a spotlight. Finally, I drew the pants and the drumsticks.

Technique: I think my skill level would be the highest on the rubric because I followed the rubric and I think it looks pretty realistic. I believe the best area of my work is definitely the hair and the bottom cymbal, they look the most detailed. If I could do something differently, I would have drawn my sister last so that the darker parts wouldn't fade away as much as they did in the end.

process: I began by sketching out the general shapes of the skull and then i went in and added more detail. I tried to incorporate lines into the skull for extra detail. Then I traced it onto the lino cut and then carved into it making sure to carve into the bones and the highlights of the teeth and horns. Then I painted it and put it on paper. For the second layer I decided to add lines in the back, like tall skinny trees. Then I finally printed that on top.

Materials: Acrylic Paint, paintbrushes, sponge.

Process: I started out by sketching. The figure in the middle then I added the wings and then decided to add in the background then I wanted to detail in the body and then finally started painting. I painted the background a red color and then I added brown on the sides of the sky, and then I painted the trees and the reflection and tried to make it look like water. Then I went in and painted the ribs and the chest. I did a lot of shading ingredients and then painted the rest of the body and finally I painted the wings in purple. The project I redid was the skateboard or the record project and I really wanted to paint on a record because it’s not that big of a canvas and it looks nice to paint on I tried to go more into detail on this project rather than the last project. I tried making it look more realistic and adding more contrasting colors. If I could do a third series to this to continue my growth, I think I would add more details and extra objects in the painting, such as poppies I would also definitely put the figure in a different position. Some elements in my painting is the colors because they are contrasting such as the reds and the blues And I also used texture in my drawing by trying to implement the reflection of the water and the ripples in it. Some principles in my artwork could be contrast due to the contrasting colors. Another one could be emphasis because The main part of the peace really sticks out because it’s different colors from the rest of the painting and it’s right in the middle. finally, one composition in my painting is pattern because there is a pattern with the feathers on the wings, a pattern in the ribs in the body as well as a pattern on the trees.
