Biome Temperate Deciduous Forests are located 40-60 degrees N and S. This biome has warm summers and cold winters with over 39 inches of annual precipitation. They are dense with broadleaf deciduous trees such as beech, maple, and oak. Their higher soil fertility, combined with their longer growing season, means that temperate seasonal forests have greater plant productivity than a large number of biomes. With high plant productivity comes with many animals including squirrels, black bears, and foxes.
