Creative drama incorporation:

I feel like a great way to incorporate creative drama would be to have the students to pick a character from a poem or narrative and have them act out what they think the character is like based off of the information in the text. The students will need to focus on the language that is used to describe the character or they language that they use directly. They will also need to focus on the punctuation that is being used for their character as well as the feelings they have expressed or how other characters view them.

I would find a poem about an element in nature like wind or sunlight or morning dew that does not specifically state the element in the text. I would have the students read through it a couple of times and have them annotate for key words or ideas. Then I would take the class outside and have them try to find the specific element that is being described in the text.
