Student Genius Team
*Onboard new teachers: set up email, setup chromebook, Newline, etc
*Enrolled chromebooks for students in the summer; installed wireless projectors in classrooms
*Partner with elementary classes on occasion
*Trainings with Nearpod, Canva, Microsoft, etc
*1:1 45 minute appt with teachers all summer long (new hire gets a link from HR to book their onboarding appt)
*Genius team creates social media posts monthly on an online tool such as Canva
*Genius team works together to create 3 podcasts per year
*Team was 4 students year one, now it's ten students per year (started in 2015)
*Genius Team is contracted outside of school hours. They work all summer, and 2 afternoon/evenings a week during school year. It is not for class credit.
*To hire, they advertised on Twitter, social media, etc. Word of mouth and at the high school. Applicants had to submit a resume and rec's, and apply on a google form.
*The program began in a hallway in the admin building, now they occupy a space in the CTE building: Genius HG
*Genius Team has presented at TCEA, ISTE, etc
*Hire in Feb/March, train in April and May; onboard in June, July, August. Reapply yearly.
