Hazel Grace Lancaster suffered from thyroid cancer. Her mother asked to join an anti-cancer group. She met a boy named Augustus Waters in the group. Augustus Waters had osteosarcoma and thought he had no cancer after leg amputation, but in fact his cancer had recurred. and spread everywhere. The entire book revolves around their emotional arc and their experiences fighting cancer. 10/10

This book is William Styron's memoir about his experiences with depression. In 1985, Styron suffered from depression. While he was traveling to Paris to accept the Prix Mondial Cino del Duca, his depression began to worsen rapidly and he nearly committed suicide. In the days that followed, he became more suicidal, and no treatment was helpful. Once again, he wanted to commit suicide very much and was already preparing to commit suicide. He heard a piece of Brahms' Alto Rhapsody, and then he became disgusted with the act of suicide and recovered from depression instantly.

In the 1890s, Jo suffered discrimination and unfair treatment because of her identity as a Chinese American. The book describes how he fought against these injustices and his life and events.I think the story line is a bit too confusing. I feel that the story line in this book is a bit like various stories piled together, so I was very confused when I read this book.
