Both the ISTE and TPSE surveys helped me recognize how important it is to integrate technology in a meaningful and educational way. Many times, teachers just shove in the use of technology just to make the job easier, rather than using it as a resource for the original lesson. I want to have full confidence in incorporating technology and not second-guess whether it benefits me more as a teacher or a student.

The TPSE and ISTE standards allowed me to visualize how to help students learn in a positive and productive way. Throughout grade school, now looking back there were lots of technology around us just used for teachers to gain a break, a lot of the online learning resources we were provided were more of a fun thing rather than learning, of course learning should be fun, but it should be fun coming from the teacher rather than some online resource given to us so the teacher gets a break. These standards provide responsibilities for students in their learning, many opportunities to obtain their learning, and a variety of technology for students to access and teachers as well.

After completing the survey, I felt very confident in my ability to use and interact with technology effectively as an educator. I feel that I grew up with technology completely intertwined in my education, and have become very savvy with using and learning new forms of technology in all areas of life. I think that the standards helped me to have concrete expectations for myself, my students, and my future administration when it comes to technology usage and proficiency. The standards did challenge my personal perspective that technology can often times do more harm than good in the classroom, as I feel it can become a distraction rather than a tool.

The ISTE standards for educators and students both give me the impression that as we come into this technology age as future educators we as well have to know the ins and outs of the technology we will be teaching our future students. Then it teaches them that it is here to support them as a useful tool rather than take away from their learning. What I did learn about myself while taking the TSPE survey is that I'm not too confident in myself when it comes to bringing technology to a classroom that could help better my future students which means I got to integrate myself more with the benefits of technology in a classroom setting than I thought.

The ISTE standards are a great benchmark for teachers to use to build out their classrooms and lesson plans using tech to support learning. I had my identity stolen last year so my digital privacy and literacy have improved drastically and I am extremely confident in my ability to integrate technology into the classroom in a constructive and ethical way. There is definitely a balance to strike of using tech as a tool for inclusivity versus relying on technology to do the teaching.

It emphasized accommodating learners' differences and diversity by providing and encouraging exploration and collaboration available with emerging technologies. Utilizing digital tools in evaluation and assessments. I also really like that they included the importance of protecting and safeguarding digital identity and managing what is done and how much time is spent online.

I think these are both important to have as a guide, especially when it comes to protecting students and working with them. With the survey, I felt mostly confident about the use of technology in the classroom, and I look forward to learning more to be more confident all around.

As I started working at an Elementary school, the use of technology in a proficient way is highly important. As a teacher, my experience with the use of technology reminds me of using technology purposefully to support students' learning, as well as using it as a tool to continue to see my professional growth. Although the tool of technology is accessible, there is no reason to overuse it to make the job easier. It should be used and continued to be used as a tool with many accessible educational platforms to use.

I'm already vaguely aware of my uncomfortableness with technology and computers, but I'm seeing that many of my other strengths will be useful.
