Noel Gallagher is my favourite musician of all time. Noel was born in Manchester in 1967. He grew up on a council estate with his mum Peggy, his dad Thomas, and his two brothers. Paul, and also Liam who he later joined his band in 1991. Before he joined Oasis, He was a roadie for the Oldham/Manchester band, The Inspiral Carpets. Eventually he was sacked and went back to Manchester and discovered his brother Liam had formed a band.
Noel had written the majority of Oasis songs and played guitar and sometimes the bass.

Noel was quite a unhappy child growing up as his farther was abusive. He took all of that anger and put it into positive things such as learning to play the guitar, discovering his love for music, and being able to write amazing lyrics for his songs. He grew up on a council estate in one of the worst areas in Manchester at the time. Half The World Away, written by Noel, Is about someone wanting to get away from their hometown, and to discover a new life for themselves. I n my opinion, I think this is Noel writing about himself and his desire for wanting to get away and how he felt at the time.
Before Oasis, Noel was a roadie for the Inspiral Carpets which he traveled around the world with.

Noel Joined his brothers band a few months after they formed. They were called 'The Rain', however when Noel joined they changed it to Oasis.
In 1993, The band travelled up to Glasgow to support a band at a gig. There at the King Tut's club, Alan McGee signed them to his record label, Creation Records straight after he saw them play the first time. From there, in just a couple of months they blew up across the UK. They later on went international.
Noel wrote practically all of the songs in Oasis. He was the most talented songwriter out of all of them. He also played guitar and bass for the band. a few of the songs he sand however his brother, Liam, sang most of them.

During the years of Oasis, the band split up a fair few times due to arguments and tiffs with his brother Liam. However in 2009 was the last time they split up and haven't had any reunions so far.
In 2010, one year after Oasis had split up, Noel Gallagher had formed his own band called 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, (NGHFB). The Band consists of Noel Gallagher, and people who he uses as session musicians. Chris Sharrock, Mike Rowe, Russell Prichard, and Tim Smith.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have released two albums so far, and have one coming out later on in this year, 2017.

Why is Noel Gallagher my favourite musician?

Noel Gallagher is my favourite Musician as in my opinion, he is the greatest songwriter of all time. I have a very strong opinion of this as I have been listening to his music for years. I can also relate to him as a person as well as his lyrics. 'I'm like a cat, cats are very independent creatures. They don't give a fuck'. Noel had said this in the recent Oasis documentary Supersonic. He means he's an independent person, he likes to keep himself to himself. I feel that I can relate to this a lot. I also love how his songs are relatable to pretty much anyone no matter what situation they're in. For example, Half The World Away. I might not of had an abusive upbringing in a council estate in the worst part of Manchester, but I can relate at the fact that he wants to get away from his hometown and discover a whole new city. It's boring, the days get repetitive and long.
Noel was also the reason why I picked up a guitar and decided to learn it, alongside with wanting distractions from daily life. He's also the reason why I decided to take up music as a career, I want to be able to write songs and play the guitar and bass as well as him.
