This is my great, great grandfather, a policeman in Victorian Birmingham (most of my ancestry is in the midlands). I like to kid myself he got the Peaky Blinders in order. If the British Newspaper Archive is anything to go by he mainly rescued stolen chickens and fined people for making too much noise!

Today I was out on my rather rusty bicycle, but I could be running, walking the dogs or bouncing on my children's (now grown up) trampoline in the garden.   No lycra, technical gadgets, fitbit, heart rate monitor or strava required (unlike some of my colleagues in sport and exercise science!).  I just thrive on doing something energetic outside and the feeling of happiness that the sights, sounds and smells of the countryside (whatever the weather) evoke in me every day. It does soon wear off once I sit down in front of my computer though .... 
Looking forward to art galleries and  theatre when they reopen.
