Whether he was hallucinating, dreaming, or living through his story, Pi was forced to accept the unbelievable reality that he was trapped inside of. Towards the beginning of his journey, he struggled with emotional tension due to the loss of his family. As he continued on his way home, he went through multiple spiritual experiences, which led to him questioning his existence, or who/what created him. Pi used this to his advantage to make a connection with God, thus driving Pi to gain hope and determination to make it back to land.
