Some of the benefits of eating at hawker centers is that the food is very cheap and tasty, you have a 99.9% chance of getting a seat as there are always lots of seats.I honestly think it is fair that we are now required to clean our tables as it shows attitude of gratitiude to our cleaners.

Eating at hawker centers may not have an aircon like a restaurant but they have fans which does not make much of a difference, plus the food is delicious! Hawker center food may even taste the same as restaurant food and they are also priced at an affordable price! Instead of relying on cleaners, diners are now required to clear tables of dirty trays, crockery and litter after their meals. I feel elated that they are doing this as whoever used the table should be the one cleaning it up. Can you imagine if you were the next person to use the table and saw it full of dirty bowls and litter all over? I would not be able to stand that! Hence, I highly encourage you to try hawker food if you haven't already and always remember to clean up the dirt you caused so the next person using it will have a clean table. If everyone does this, we can help reduce the cleaners work and hawkers will be nice and clean to go to.

In a hawker centre, food is usually cheaper than restaurants. Restaurants may or may not have local singaporean food, but hawker centres usually do. That way, tourists or visitors can taste not just the tasty local food but how life is like in Singapore and what kind of styles Singapore has. Instead of relying on cleaners, it is true that diners are now required to clean up the table and their surroundings. Why? This is because cleaners are only meant to help out and make our day have more sparkle. It is us that have a part to play. The plate that you ate with was used by you, so you have the responsibility of that plate thus should you clean it up. Even though it was not a perfect idea, I still think this practice was the best idea. This way, we can show our attitude of gratitude to the cleaners.

I love to eat in hawker centers because I love the variety of food and drinks there. There is western and eastern and many other foods to choose from. But in my opinion, the most spectacular things in hawker centers are the plates and bowls. They are so colourful and all differ between each stall. Say from a western stall you get a black plate but maybe from a stall that sells muslim food has orange plates. When you order food from so many stalls, you get a ray of colours and is truly one of my favourite reasons why I like to eat in hawker centers.

Hawker centres are open-air complexes that house many stalls that sell a wide variety of affordably priced food.
Food courts offer food similar to that in hawker centres, though in exchange for the air-conditioned comfort in food courts, customers typically pay more for a meal there than for a similar meal at hawker centres. Some food court stalls are branches of well-known hawker stalls and restaurants. Kallang hawker centre supposedly has the cheapest coffee in Singapore. Recently, Facebook page Best foody dedicated a post to Jalan Benaan Kapal Food Centre. The humble establishment, which is located in the Kallang area near Stadium MRT, is said to be one of the oldest and smallest hawker centres in Singapore and that is why hawker centres are in the must go list
