         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) An individual who requires additional support in any or a combination of the areas of disability (cognitive, physical, personal-social).<br>2) Students with SSN require more time and repetition, have language limitations, have difficulty with attending to a specific subject, lack observational and incidental learning, limitations in memory, difficulty in skill synthesis, have difficulty with generalization, and difficulty with self-regulation,<br>3) Instruction needs to be individualized, begin as soon as possible, family should always be included in decisions and instruction topics, the student's quality of education should be equal to their peers, they should have increased independence and self-regulation.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>The take away….1)	Individuals who comprise the group of students with severe disabilities have significant support needs including intellectual disabilities, performing at a lower level of peer group or grade level, physical restrictions, adaptive behaviors which affect their everyday livelihood.2)	The learning characteristics of students with SSN need repetition, have weak generalization, lack expressive and receptive language, need more consistency, unpredictable routines, limitations in memory, etc.3)	The best practices of students with SSN include: starting early, inclusion, self-determination, people first language, positive behavior, social values, legal laws and the treatment of individuals with disabilities.</title>
