While we would love to see all the delicious meals or snacks your child(ren) loves at home, HCDC participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program which provides HCDC with federal dollars for the meals the center provides. With those federal dollars comes certain restrictions on portion sizes, having a certain amount of components per meal (dairy, protein, grain, fruit, veggie) that are required for the meal to be reimbursable. 

If your child has a dietary restriction for religious or medical reasons, HCDC can provide you with a meal modification form that would ensure your child receives an appropriate substitution with their meal. For example, if a child is allergic to dairy they would receive a dairy free meal and alternate milk to drink. There are over 400 KDHE licensed centers in Kansas, only 35 of those are NAEYC accredited. 

This accreditation entails having higher quality standards for the center and having a review every 5 years to ensure quality and maintenance of those standards along with annual reports, classroom and program portfolios.
