I always looked closer at the instruments and as they turned to dust. The people suffering in the Holocaust are the instruments that voices will never hear. The lead singer is giving us all a warning that if we are silent these bad things like a cancer can become worse and eventually destroy all of us, even those who remained silent

I believe the song "Sound of Silence" reflects on the Holocaust. I think this is because we can see the emotions throughout the entire song and the lyrics. It's talking about how the darkness and the silence were from everyone who wasn't speaking up. A lot of people during the Holocaust decided to not speak up because they were afraid but by doing so this affected many of the Jews. It will never make sense to me how we let this happen in the past and the fact that they knew what people were going through but did absolutely nothing to try and stop this cannot get in my head. If in the future something like this ever tries to occur we have to learn from our past and see to the future realizing that we are all in this together no matter skin color or race. Altogether I believe this song was inspirational as well as the images shown it shows a lot about the Holocaust and puts you right into perspective.

The singer also warns everyone that everything can become worse for everyone. The music video's images also lacked color so it was colorless, representing a gloomy and miserable emotion.

The piano being broken down is similar to the life of a pianist who lived during the WII time, his dream of music was destroyed too. No one spoke for each other rather just stood as bystanders as they feared the Nazis and watched their mates suffer. The colorless life is surrounded by sadness and fear. The song is so emotional. The lyrics gives me an idea how lonely and frustrated the singer was. I couldn't even find one single word in the song having a positive or happy tone. To me the words darkness, silence, cancer etc symbolizes negativity and I noticed these words being used multiple times in each stanza. Even the background music and the style of singing was giving hopeless and sad vibe. The appearance of the actor, the music and its lyrics made me think about a lot of things which happened int the past as well as something thats going to happen in the future.

I think some of the song could be about the loss and grievence of those who lost loved ones and how fast the whole event really happened. I remember in the music video, people were sort of disappearing so it could represent how people were killed because speaking up was a fearful thing to do, so nobody did it. And because of the problem not concerning them, they didn't feel the need to do anything about it. The whole vibe of the music video just looked pretty sad with the monochrome color palette.
